"King's Whim" by Global Impro
(19:30 - 20:30 - Theaterzaal)
The king wants a theatre play. He doesn't know what he wants, but he wants it right now. A playwright and a jester must collaborate to create a story to satisfy the king and they only have 30 minutes to please the king's whim. Their lives depend on it.
This improvised play highlights the importance of oral tradition and storytelling through two different and conflicting characters: a calm, brain-centered playwright and a wacky physical jester.
"Here: The Sondheim Improvised Musical" directed by Katy Schutte
(21:00 - 22:00 - Theaterzaal)
Here is an improvised musical inspired by the work of Stephen Sondheim and Jason Robert Brown. It’s a piece of theatre about the everyday. Did you ever feel deep fulfilment from sharpening your pencils, utter disgust for your office job or a wonderful sense of serendipity when you stepped off the bus and saw a squirrel? Of course you did, and so do we.
NEW FORMAT: "What a Play Looks Like" - Somewhat Theatre
(22:30 - 23:00 - Blauwe Zaal)
We all know what a play looks like, but do we all see the same thing? Somewhat Theatre ask what makes a play a play.
A new piece exploring the nature of theatre and other grand-minded ideas. Somewhat Theatre formed with the idea of working out what makes something feel like a play, and we're digging into that - we'll be asking the audience what makes a play a play and then performing that play. Playfully.
